A/C Advertisement : Lost in Translation?

A/C Advertisement Gone Wrong?

This FujiAir Air Conditioning Advertisement should give us pause.  Take a long look.


I'm not sure what to think of this as I'm surely biased by my culture, upbringing,, education etc.  I admit, I believe discipline is a good thing.  However, I don't believe that parental discipline is the problem with this advertisement. My issue with this advertisement is 'focus'.  The message and story is about a mother and son.  This is supposed to be an advertisement for an Air Conditioner..... where is it?  Why Buy it?  Perhaps Fujiair is looking for some controversy to let media churn their name?
