Newly installed A/C before and after pictures in Memorial, TX
This week the temperatures in Houston have begun to rise into the 80s. Still the night time temperatures have been reasonably cool. Still a friend of mine called and said that he, his wife and newborn baby were way overheated from a night without air conditioning. Their old school trane(see below) had stopped working. When we arrived the next day we found that the condenser fan motor was broken. Normally this would not be much of an issue but this particular motor was going to cost them $1,200 and there was only one available in houston. So instead of using good money on old equipment they opted to update the evaporator coil and condenser with 14.5 SEER Ruud equipment.
Now many newer condensing units have a rating listed on these bright yellow stickers. Don’t be fooled however because true efficiency is contingent on the entire system. Ducts, evaporator coil, and yes even your furnace. Some 14.5 SEER condensers are capable of creating a system that reaches 16 SEER – strange I know but it takes all pieces working in conjunction to do so.
